Everyday is a competition on sports!
As we think of the athletes that havre the most notorious competitors in sports, we will notice that at their core, they are the same. What is it that gives them that edge and allows them to keep competing game after game.
“You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.” - Wayne Gretzky
Everyday is a contest to see if you can top your highest from yesterday. You are competing against yourself, while knowing where your external competition is.
Competition
Hearing the most notorious competitors talk about competition is pretty scary. They describe it as if its almost a need. It's like they HAVE TO compete. Guys like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and Tom Brady display this "Controlled Rage" while playing their sport. You see this twinkle in their eye as the game approaches crunch time. A look that suggest a "this is when the fun starts". Competition is different for each competitor. Some guys are solely focused on topping how they did in their previous performance. They keep their head down and keep grinding, only focused on themselves. Other like to look around and see how they match up with others. They thrive off of knowing that they're better others in their field and show it everyday chance they get. Regardless, being the best competitor you can be starts in practice. It's all on how you prepare. Make your practice as close to the game as possible so that it transfers into the game.
